a little quiet time

I alway have good thought about writing this blog, but then I get busy and forgot what I wanted to say.
The tomatos are producing like crazy.  Al must eat 4 a day and we still have lots.  The green peppers are a little slower in their process but they are getting there.  I don't think that we will have all that many this year.  and the bittersweet that I planted turned out not to be what I wanted so I had to to pull it all.  but on the upside, the beautiful orange petunias that I brought back for Tracy's are gorgeous.  I am hoping to get some seeds to keep for next year in case I can't find them again.  They are simply beautiful.  The sunflower seeds that were planted have actually grown into sunflowers much to my surprise.  There are short ones and then taller ones along the fence.  These are lemon yellow with a brown center.  I've already order new plants for next spring.  Some coneflower and orange tall phlox.  The marigolds also did magnificent this year.  Everywhere we put them they did great.  The flower box in front, has orange geraniums, butter yellow marigold and white petunias with rose moss scatter throughout.  It really looks good.
We are having painters paint the upstairs and downstairs hallways and the ceiling in the living room.  Just a little sprucing up.  Next I would like to get better lighting in the basement.  If I want to use it I have to be able to see.
Jayne is recovering nicely from her knee surgery.  It is hard to live by yourself and get around with crutches, but I don't think that she will need them for long.  Linus is with Karyn and that is a good thing!
The Hoover kids have started school and the Peoria kids start Wednesday. Holly doesn't go thill after Labor Day.  Football has started at Rocky and already I am ready for it to be over.  As always this is his last year!!!
