I was excited to see pique and seersucker fabric. I haven't seen pique for a long time. When we were first married I made a lot of dresses out of pique. It has such vibrant colors and a great texture, ooooo i just wanted to buy it all.....and the seersucker is always very festive. I used it a lot when I made clothes for my little girls, I did enjoy making their clothes and they never looked like anyone else. They were original! and my clothes were too! I would see a cute something or other, find a pattern that resemble it, pick out the fabric and I had me a new outfit, in style for a lot less money. and also the satisfaction that I had made it.
I also had the time to look at pattern books. The New Look book caught my eye and I was delighted to see retro dresses, pants and shirts and skirts....perfect for the fabric that I saw. I was introduced to website called MODCLOTH.com. It is by original designers, new ones I think, and a lot of these dresses were in the book, I really want to try and make one. I got a swimsuit from MODCLOTH and it fits great! It is a little retro looking too
and then I went to the Goodwill. I am looking for old soup spoons, round with a little dip at the end of the handle. we used some on the cruise and they were perfect. The search is on for 2 old soup spoons! no spoons but I did find an old white basket, a tulip shaped glass, (for summer's flowers) and 3 Ball jars, the kind used for canning. I will need to get the lids, but I want to put dry pasta and beans in them. It will let me see how much I have left. I probably have a dozen in the basement, but this was easier!
