a splendid week on some beauttiful islands

Our cruise went amazingly fast.  It was wet and rainy and cold when we landed in Miami and got on the ship and wished we had brought sweaters.....but the next day brought beautiful sun and some warmer weathers.  It is great how fast the mood can turn around when the sun shines.   We could sit on our balcony  and read or sleep or do nothing...the sun was on our side of the ship and we took full advantage of it.  Al didn;t sleep well the night before so we found him some advil pm and he slept like a baby....somehow we forgot his jumping pills but he did okay..

Puerto Rico was nice but we didn't do any excursions, we have been there and saved the money for the two Islands that we have never been on....It was very hot there so we did just a bit of shopping and then got back on board.  I received a beautiful box of pixie fannie may candy   can you say yummy!!!

We had dinner at our table in the dining room, and neither of the couples that were next to us ate there on Saturday or Sunday on Monday the couple next to us came.  They were a delightful young couple from Germany....Simon and Johanna.  We had wonderful evening meals with them and learn a lot about Germany and Europe in General  They are each 31, not married yet but I'm sure will be soon.  I likend Simon to Mike
Bell, I told Al that we had met the German Mike Bell.   Very nice people. We promised as we hugged goodby that if ever we made it to Germany we would visit them in Trier Germany....Simon thought that it was amazing that our last name is Metz....because of the city in Germany

Beautiful St Kitts!

more to come

  1. Love St. Kitts!!! Soo pretty. and now with facebook you can keep up with your friends from Germany. And you know, I always thought Metz came from Metz France but maybe it is Metz, Germany. That probably made dad happier than France. haha.

  2. I think Metz started out as a city in France, but after the war it ended up in Germany!
